Institute of Fine Art

FINE ART is one of the HBK Braunschweig’s six institutes. Its purpose is to encourage the realisation of artistic potential and projects. It is a centre for teaching and learning in the visual arts and for continuing education, based on the theory and practices of the fine arts.
The institute is responsible for teaching practical artistic skills for the Diploma in Fine Art, Bachelor degree in ART.Education and the Meisterschüler degree in Fine Art . Students enrolled for the Bachelor degree in ART.Education and Meisterschüler degree in Fine Art also complete the practical artistic modules of their courses here.

The institute also designs and carries out the artistic aptitude tests required for students applying for Fine Art degree programmes, and is responsible for evaluating teaching. Its staff offer advisory sessions on putting together a portfolio as well as help and advice on all aspects of the degree for current and prospective students.
