Klimatag HBK Braunschweig #3: Was wir tun und lassen

Im Angesicht von Klimakatastrophe und Biodiversitätsverlust braucht es grundlegende Veränderungen – im Kleinen wie im Großen. Die Sonderkommission für Klimaschutz des Senats der HBK Braunschweig lädt alle Hochschulangehörigen und Interessierten am 4. Dezember 2025 zum 3. Klimatag in die Aula der Hochschule ein.

Neben Vorträgen und Workshops von und mit Gästen aus Netzpolitik und Kunst bietet der Klimatag Raum für kritischen Austausch, solidarisches Netzwerken und kreative Ideen. 

Eine Veranstaltung der Sonderkommission für Klimaschutz des Senats der HBK Braunschweig in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Ana Dimke, Präsidentin der HBK Braunschweig.

Barrierefreiheit: Die Aula ist rollstuhlgerecht, jedoch sind die Türen ohne Automatik (Hilfe durch Begleitung nötig). Ein rollstuhlgerechtes WC ist vorhanden. Bei weiteren Bedarfen bitte die Veranstalter*innen kontaktieren: klimaschutz@hbk-bs.de.

18:00–18:30 Uhr: Diskussion: Welche Rolle spielen Kunst und Kultur in einer von der Klimakatastrophe geprägten Gegenwart und Zukunft? Wie (re)agieren Kunsthochschulen als Ausbildungsorte für diese Zukünfte?
 

*Planetary Embodiment proposes that meaningful climate action begins with reclaiming the body. The workshop invites participants to recognize how disembodiment—driven by extractive systems, digital mediation, and technological acceleration—has numbed our collective capacity to care for life. Through somatic practice and collective reflection, the session cultivates sensory awareness and nervous system regulation as tools to meet the challenges of our time. When we are present in our own bodies, we can attune to the body of the Planet and the bodies of others, perceiving what is alive and transforming within us as inseparable from what is happening in the world—and acting with care. Grounded in my long-term artistic-pedagogical research and the publication Planetary Embodiment: Cooking with Words for Systemic Change and Solidarity (2023), this work bridges embodiment and systemic understanding. Participants will also engage with the theoretical meaning of the planetary and its conceptual role in climate action. It proposes embodiment as the groundwork for coherent, regenerative action in the face of ecological and social crisis, offering participants practical tools they can integrate into their own practices.

Luïza Luz is a Brazilian transdisciplinary artist, author, and educator based in Berlin. Their work bridges spatial practices, embodied storytelling, and intersectional environmentalism, engaging the body as a site of knowledge and transformation. Luz’s publications and pedagogical practice investigate listening and language as tools for systemic change. They teach at institutions such as the Sandberg Instituut (Amsterdam) and the Berlin University of the Arts, and their performances and installations have been presented at leading institutions including MoMA PS1, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), KINDL Museum, Belvedere 21, and Kasseler Kunstverein.
